BATON ROUGE – After recording a season-best 196.325 against Arkansas, the LSU gymnastics team moved up eight spots to No. 17 in the newest GymInfo standings released Monday.
LSU (1-5, 1-1 Southeastern Conference) improved from a 193.763 season average to 194.617 thanks to the season high against the Razorbacks.
The Tigers used a 49.500 team vault score at Arkansas to jump to No. 6 in the national vault rankings with a 49.242 average.
LSU earned the No. 14 spot on floor with a 48.850 average, and the Tigers checked into the bars rankings at No. 25 with a 48.475 mark.
Freshman Rheagan Courville made her first appearance in the individual all-around standings at No. 22 with a 39.158 average after posting a season-high 39.375 at Arkansas. Courville also climbed five spots to No. 5 in the vault rankings with a 9.917 average.
Freshman Lloimincia Hall remained in the floor standings at No. 18 with a 9.858 average.
Senior Ashley Lee checked in at No. 19 in the vault rankings with a 9.875 average, and freshman Jessie Jordan made her first appearance in the beam rankings at No. 18 after back-to-back 9.875 scores against Auburn and Arkansas.
Arkansas and UCLA tied for No. 1 in the nation with a 196.775 team average. Utah is No. 3 with a 196.713 average, followed by Nebraska at four with a 196.575 mark and Oklahoma at No. 5 at 196.433.
Georgia, LSU’s next opponent, is ranked seventh with a 196.275 average.
LSU travels to Athens, Ga., to face the GymDogs at 3 p.m. CT Saturday inside Stegeman Coliseum.
