BATON ROUGE – After capturing her first career all-around title in LSU’s victory over Auburn, freshman gymnast Lloimincia Hall received Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week honors, the league office announced Wednesday.
Hall posted a 39.200 all-around score, the highest total last week by a freshman in the SEC and the highest score for an LSU gymnast since Sarie Morrison earned a 39.575 on Feb. 18, 2011 against Georgia.
She also shared the floor title with teammate Rheagan Courville as both tallied a 9.90 to close out the win against Auburn.
With the victory LSU (1-4, 1-0 SEC) picked up its first regular season SEC win since Feb. 5, 2010 when the Tigers defeated Alabama in Baton Rouge.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Hall placed third in the meet on bars with a 9.750 and fourth on beam with a 9.80. She also tallied a 9.750 on vault against Auburn after posting a 9.90 in the season opener.
The SEC honor is the first for an LSU gymnast since Morrison received Freshman of the Week recognition on Feb. 22, 2011 after her performance against Georgia.
