BATON ROUGE – The LSU Athletics Department has announced its rewards program for the 2011-12 season for its basketball student section group, the Maravich Maniacs, presented by Rotolo’s Pizzeria.
The program is based on points accrued from attending basketball games this year and attending Maniac regularly scheduled meetings. Attendance at basketball games is free of charge with a valid LSU ID.
This year, the student with the most points in each class level will win a $500 gift card to Academy Sports. Any student can sign up and will receive a Maravich Maniac T-Shirt and a Maravich Maniac Wristband.
Also Maniacs can earn points by attending bi-monthly meetings for the group held in the L Club of the Maravich Center. Wearing their Maniac shirt to games at the Maravich Center will also earn one additional point.
The Maniacs also have watch parties at Rotolo’s on Nicholson Drive and points are awarded for those Maniacs “liking” the Maravich Maniac Facebook page and the LSU Basketball Facebook page.
There are several “Levels of Mania” that have been put together to reward participants including “Blue Chipper”, “Practice Player” ($5 gift card at Jack-In-The-Box), “Starter” (which earns a Maniac Hat for earning 25 points), all the way up to the “Rising Star” (eligible to enter a raffle for an authentic LSU NIKE Pro Combat Jersey) and the “Ultimate Gym Rat” (where a person win a chance to throw out the first pitch at an upcoming LSU baseball game).
