BATON ROUGE – LSU football players Lavar Edwards, Michael Ford, Brandon Taylor, Karnell Hatcher, Mickey Johnson, Jarvis Landry and Craig Loston did not let the pressures of the upcoming Homecoming contest against Western Kentucky keep them from serving the Baton Rouge as they visited children earlier this week at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
As well as visiting the children in the hospital’s playroom, the student-athletes traveled room-to-room throughout the floor to ensure that all kids knew the players’ excitements to be there.
The children were supplied with gifts like LSU football t-shirts and hats, as well as autographs and plenty of pictures. The dedicated student-athletes even signed purple and gold handprints on the walls of the hospitals.
Ford, who rushed for a team-high 72 yards on 11 carries, was grateful for the opportunity to visit the many fans of the hospital.
“The visit showed me how blessed we are to be student-athletes at LSU,” Ford said. “We all really enjoyed this visit, and it is something we will remember for a long time.”
