Wolf Wins at ITA All-America Qualifying

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – LSU senior Whitney Wolf, the No. 52 ranked player in nation, upset No. 49 Belinda Niu of Northwestern during day one of play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association/Riviera All-American Qualifying on Tuesday.

In the first singles match of the day, Wolf fell to the No. 26 player in the nation, Joanna Mather of Florida.

“It was pretty impressive to see Whitney come back after a tough loss and pull out a hard fought win,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said, “She played well against Mather but it took some toughness to come back and win the second singles match of the day.”

In doubles, Wolf and junior Kaitlin Burns fell to Brooke Bolender and Emina Bektas of Michigan, the No. 17 ranked doubles team in the nation.
