BATON ROUGE – LSU football players Craig Loston, Alfred Blue and Barkevious Mingo took advantage of the team’s bye week and promoted LSU spirit to pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students Thursday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Elementary School.
Loston, Blue and Mingo met with students on their school playground, where they spoke about what it means to be a student-athlete. The players also talked about the importance of sportsmanship and hard work in school.
Students and teachers asked the sophomore players questions about LSU, the football program and then sang the LSU fight song. The players enjoyed visiting the young students and encouraging them to work hard.
“I really enjoyed answering the questions that the kids had to ask,” Loston said. “I had a really fun time, and I can’t wait to do it again sometime soon. It feels great when you can make someone happy and see them smile.”
