BATON ROUGE — Ten members of the LSU men’s tennis team will travel to Auburn, Ala., to compete in the USTA/ITA Southern Regional tournament Oct. 20-24 at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.

Seniors Mark Bowtell, Tom Knights, David Roberts and Neal Skupski, juniors Roger Anderson, Olivier Borsos and Stefan Szacinski, sophomores James Turbervill and Matt Zachary, and freshman Chris Simpson will represent the Tigers at the event, which includes a total of 84 players from 13 different schools.

“We are looking forward to the tournament this weekend as well as the opportunity to get back out there and put together what we have been working on in practice,” assistant coach Danny Bryan said.

The Southern Region includes universities from Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.  This year the tournament will include Alabama, Auburn, Louisiana-Lafayette, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Nicholls State, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Troy, Tulane and UAB.

The main draw for both singles and doubles will begin at 8 a.m. CT on Thursday.

The Tigers last took the court two weeks ago when Simpson, Turbervill, Szacinski, Anderson, Knights, Bowtell and Roberts played in the Rice Invitational, and Skupski and Borsos competed in the ITA All-American Championships.
