BATON ROUGE – Top-ranked LSU continued to prepare for its clash with Southeastern Conference Western Division rival Auburn on Wednesday as the No. 1-ranked Tigers went indoors for a spirited two hour workout here at the Charles McClendon Practice Facility.

LSU and Auburn square off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in a sold out Tiger Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on CBS. LSU, winners of all seven of its game by double-figures, is 7-0 overall and 4-0 in conference action. Auburn is 5-2 overall and 3-1 in league play.

After Wednesday’s practice, LSU head coach Les Miles issued the following comments regarding the Tigers’ preparation for the Auburn game:

“I certainly understand the interest surrounding what seems to be news. The problem with that news is that it’s internal discipline and an internal function of a team. I’m not inclined to be forthcoming with information. I’m not reactionary to meet the (needs) of the media and things external to this building. So, with that being said, there’s a process that I go through. When there’s information that I can share, I will. I can only tell you that I’m doing this in the best interest of our football team, our squad and to maintain a deportment and a procedure that I’m true to in a process that I’m very comfortable with. There’s no real information about any specific player that I’ll address at this point.

“I liked our practice. I think our preparation for Auburn is ongoing. I like the position that we’re in. We have a very capable football team. Our football team is looking forward to playing in Tiger Stadium in front of friends and family.”

LSU will practice again on Thursday followed by a walk through on Friday afternoon.
