BATON ROUGE – Tiger fans are reminded that voting continues daily for LSU Soccer goalkeeper Mo Isom as the winner of the 2011 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award for women’s soccer as she currently boasts a narrow lead in the online voting that runs through Tuesday, Nov. 14.
Votes can be cast daily at the official website for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award for women’s soccer at www.seniorclassaward.com and its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/lowesseniorclassaward.
A native of Marietta, Ga., Isom leads a group of 10 finalists in the online ballot with exactly 24 percent of the vote as of Tuesday night. Memphis’ Lizzy Simonin follows closely behind at 23.9 percent and Central Florida’s Aline Reis trails in third place at 21.7 percent of the vote. None of the other finalists have posted more than 8 percent of the total online vote with four weeks remaining.
For a student-athlete to receive consideration for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award, she is to be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence, including community, classroom character and competition.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete experience, and encourages these students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their respective communities.
The 10 finalists for the 2011 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award for women’s soccer were selected by a media committee on Oct. 5 from the list of 30 candidates announced in August.
The winner of the 2011 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award will be announced in December during the NCAA Women’s College Cup being held Dec. 2-4 in Kennesaw, Ga.
