BATON ROUGE — Eight members of the LSU men’s tennis team will take the court in the 54th annual Rice Fall Invitational Sept. 30 – Oct. 2 at the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Freshman Chris Simpson, sophomores James Turbervill and Matt Zachary, juniors Stefan Szacinski and Roger Anderson and seniors Tom Knights, Mark Bowtell and David Roberts will be looking to make their mark this weekend.

Two Tigers will compete in each of the singles brackets: Bowtell and Szacinski in flight A, Simpson and Knights in flight B, Anderson and Turbervill in flight C and Zachary and Roberts in flight D.

In the doubles bracket, Szacinski and Anderson and Bowtell and Simpson will each pair up to compete in flight A, while Tiger tandems Turbervill and Zachary and Knights and Roberts look to standout in flight B.

“We have had some good results in these first two tournaments,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “We look to gain more confidence and build off our earlier success this weekend in Houston.”

Rice, Arkansas and Tulane will also be in attendance.

The tournament commences tomorrow with doubles play at 10 a.m. CT followed shortly after by singles competition.
