BATON ROUGE – Coach Trent Johnson visited five fraternity houses on Tuesday night, his second week touring the Greek section of the LSU campus, talking about the 2011-12 men’s basketball season.
Practice begins on the night of Oct. 14 and the first game is part of a basketball-football doubleheader on North Stadium Drive on Nov. 12 when the men’s team opens with Nicholls State and the football team hosts Western Kentucky for homecoming.
Tuesday night, Coach Johnson stopped by at meal time at Phi Kappa Psi, Pi Kappa Alpha and Sigma Nu and then joined in meetings with members of Sigma Phi Epsilon and Lambda Chi Alpha.
Coach visited with the members about their fraternities, talked about this year’s team and invited them to come cheer for the team this coming season at the PMAC.
He also hopes to have several of the members forming teams for the second Maravich Maniacs Dodgeball Tournament which is set for Oct. 11 in the practice facility and the main arena of the Maravich Center. Full details will be given out for the first time Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the meeting of the Maravich Maniacs fan group, scheduled for the L-Club Room of the Maravich Center.
