BATON ROUGE — After missing two weeks with an injury, LSU redshirt freshman punter Brad Wing was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week after a flawless punting performance in the Tigers’ 47-21 victory at West Virginia on Saturday.
Wing averaged 48.7 yards on six punts including a 60-yarder. None of the punts were returned and all were downed inside the Mountaineers’ 11 yard line. When Wing was on the field, West Virginia started its next drive from its 3, 4, 5, 11, 8 and 9-yard lines.
Opponents have minus-11 punt return yards against LSU this season.
