ATHENS, Ga. — All four members of the LSU men’s tennis team earned victories today at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.
In singles, sophomore Matt Zachary started it off for the Tigers defeating Samford player Elliot Barnwell 6-2, 6-1. Junior Olivier Borsos also came on strong beating South Carolina’s Andrew Adams in a close match 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (3).
In doubles, junior Roger Anderson and sophomore James Turbervill paired together and made up for dropping each of their singles matches with an 8-6 victory over Philip Janz and Hugo Klientovsky of Eastern Kentucky. The Tiger tandem then faced the No. 1 seed Mississippi State duo Louis Cant and Malte Stropp where they fought hard, but fell 8-5.
“Overall, it was a good day,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “Olivier played really well. There will be some tough matches tomorrow, but we are looking forward to coming out strong and having a great day.”
The Tigers will all play singles tomorrow. The times have not yet been announced.
