ATHENS, Ga. — Four members of the LSU men’s tennis team will take the court in the 44th annual Southern Intercollegiate Championships Sept. 23-26 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.
Juniors Olivier Borsos and Roger Anderson and sophomores James Turbervill and Matt Zachary will travel to Georgia to participate in what will be their first tournament of the fall season.
“We are looking to build on the success that Neal Skupski and the boys had in California last week,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “This is a very strong tournament that we are in so we are looking to accomplish some things and be able to look back on it as something that helped us prepare for the rest of the season.”
The tournament will consist of three singles divisions and two double divisions. Borsos and Turbervill will play in the Division I singles and Anderson and Zachary will play in the Division II singles.
In doubles, Anderson and Turbervill and Borsos and Zachary will pair together to compete in Division I.
The 2011 tournament features participants from 25 other schools including Auburn, The Citadel, Davidson, Eastern Kentucky, East Tennessee State, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Liberty, Lipscomb, Mercer, Minnesota, Mississippi State, NC State, Samford, South Carolina, Stetson, Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and Winthrop.
