SHENZHEN, China – Tessa Teachman struggled on the first nine holes and had to settle for a five-over 77 and a 22nd place finish Saturday in the World University Games Saturday at the Mission Hills Golf Club.

Teachman posted two-double bogeys on a five-over front nine, but came back and posted an even par 36 on the back nine to finish the 72 holes at 14-over 302 in a group tied for 22nd place. Teachman had rounds of 76-73-76-77 for the four-day competition.

Tzuchi Lin of Chinese Taipei won the competition with an eight-under 280 (71-69-70-70).

The USA team players in the three play, count two  moved up to medal position, taking the bronze medal after Carolina Powers and Brooke Beeler combined for the best round of the week, a three-under 141. The Americans finished at five-over 581 (148-147-145-141), one shot behind second place China at four-over 580. Chinese Taipei was an easy winner of the Gold with an 18-over par score of 558 (139-139-142-138).
