BATON ROUGE – The Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes has added Matt Dahlke to its staff as an Academic Advisor as announced by CCACSA Executive Director Kenneth Miles.
“I’m very excited to join the team at the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student Athletes,” Dahlke said. “This is a great place and a great opportunity for me to learn and grow as a professional among such talented colleagues. I’m looking forward to help student-athletes develop academically during their time here at LSU.”
Dahlke will advise the LSU golf, tennis and cross country programs on both the men’s and women’s side. He also will coordinate award nominations at the institutional, conference and national levels for all of LSU’s student-athletes.
Prior to joining LSU, Dahlke spent two years as a graduate assistant with the Total Person Program at the University of Missouri. He worked with the football, soccer and gymnastics programs. His responsibilities also included working directly with the Enhanced Learning Program which provided support and oversaw student-athletes with education-impacting disabilities and ADHD.
Dahlke was a four-year letterwinner on Missouri’s swimming and diving team from 2005-09. He was a three-time finalist at the Big 12 Championships and a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that produced a school record. The Marshalltown, Iowa native also served on Missouri’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee where he acted as a voice regarding NCAA legislation, current campus and athletic issues.
“LSU is very fortunate to have Matt Dahlke on its team,” Miles said. “Matt comes to us as a highly recommended, up and coming scholar. His enthusiasm coupled with his desire to develop student-athletes makes him a LSU Tiger automatically. He will certainly be a difference maker on our team, and again, the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes is proud to have him apart of our family.”
A 2009 graduate of Missouri, Dahlke earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in business management. Dahlke also completed his Master’s of Education in the spring of 2011 with an emphasis on health education and promotion at Missouri.
