Two Soccer Games to be Televised Live

BATON ROUGE – Fans of the LSU soccer team have two opportunities to see the Tigers live on television during the 2011 campaign as matches at home versus Pepperdine on Sept. 11 and on the road at five-time defending SEC champion Florida on Oct. 23 will each feature a live broadcast.

After opening their new LSU Soccer Stadium against the Oregon Ducks on Friday, Sept. 9, the Tigers are set to face the Pepperdine Waves of the West Coast Conference on Sunday, Sept. 11, with the game set to kick off at 1 p.m. The match will be broadcast to a regional audience by Cox Sports Television.

And as the Tigers compete for their first Southeastern Conference championship this fall, the team battles the five-time defending champion Florida Gators in Gainesville on Sunday, Oct. 23, in a match that could determine the outcome of the SEC title race. The match is set to kick off at 1 p.m. CDT and will be shown to a live national TV audience on ESPNU’s as part of the network’s coverage of the SEC.

The Tigers are now just six days away from their 2011 season opener as they travel to Memphis on Friday to take on the Memphis Tigers in a 7 p.m. match at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.
