BATON ROUGE – LSU women’s golf coach Karen Bahnsen and the LSU Athletics Department received signed Southeastern Conference financial aid papers from Lindsay Gahm, a transfer from Indiana University.
Gahm, who is a native of Louisville, Ky., will be eligible immediately for LSU and could begin her sophomore season with the first tournament of the 2011-12 season in September.
Gahm was chosen the Big Ten Freshman of the Year for the Hoosier and second-team All-Big Ten after topping the Indiana team with a stroke average of 75.45. She had the best outing of the season by a Hoosier at the Lady Northern Invitational where she placed tied for third with a three-under 213 (70-69-74).
Her best rounds of the season were a pair of 65s that she shot to finish tied for fourth at the Challenge at Onion Creek. She tied for seventh at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic (&5-73-72). She participated in the NCAA Central Regional last year as an individual qualifier.
Gahm is the 2009 Kentucky State Championship and the recipient of 2009 Kentucky Miss Golf. She is a three time member of the Kentucky All-State prep team and a four-year member of the Principal’s Academic List. In high school at Sacred Heart Academy she also earned letters in basketball and lacrosse.
“We are very excited about having Lindsay join our team for the coming season,” said LSU Coach Karen Bahnsen. “She will be a great addition to our program.”
