BATON ROUGE – Cox Sports Television [CST], LSU’s regional cable sports network partner, will televise two LSU volleyball matches during the 2011 season Monday as released by the network.
CST will show a pair of SEC home matches on consecutive Sunday’s beginning on Oct. 16 with the Auburn match. The network also will carry the Ole Miss match on Oct. 23 at the Maravich Center. First serve of the Ole Miss match has been moved up to 1 p.m. to accommodate CST, while the Auburn match will keep its 1:30 p.m. start time.
The New Orleans-based sports network is carried on cable systems in Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas and Virginia after being launched in October 2002. CST can be seen on channel 1037 on Cox Cable in Baton Rouge and also is available to Dish Network subscribers (Channel 421) in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans markets.
The addition of two CST matches gives the Tigers five regular season contests featured on television. LSU heads into the 2011 campaign as one of only 18 programs nationally to qualify for the last six NCAA Tournaments.
The six-time defending SEC Western Division champions open the season by welcoming Alcorn State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Jacksonville State and 2010 NCAA Tournament participant Miami, Fla. to the Maravich Center for the Tiger Classic on Aug. 26-27.
