BATON ROUGE – Cox 4 will present live baseball coverage at 6:30 p.m. CT Friday from Foley Field in Athens, Ga. as the No. 9 LSU Tigers (16-4) face the Georgia Bulldogs (9-11) in the first of a three-game Southeastern Conference series this weekend.
The game may be seen on Cox 4 affiliates in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Lafayette.
“Louisiana sports fans already know us for live high school football and live New Orleans VooDoo football,” said Jason Furrate, Director of Programming and Production for Cox 4. “The LSU vs. Georgia baseball coverage fits perfectly into our lineup, and we are excited to bring this event to our customers.”
The broadcast is part of the University of Georgia television package and will be originated by WSB-TV of Atlanta.
Veteran sports announcer Chuck Dowdle will handle the play-by-play duties, former Atlanta Braves standout pitcher John Smoltz will provide color commentary and WSB sports director Zach Klein will report from the field.
