BATON ROUGE — LSU softball officials postponed Saturday’s day 2 of the Purple & Gold Challenge at Tiger Park due to heavy rain in the Baton Rouge area.
Saturday’s 9:30 a.m. opener between Pittsburgh and Hofstra was moved to 5 p.m. CT, but was again delayed in the bottom of the fourth inning and was unable to be resumed.
Hofstra and Pittsburgh meet in a new game at 9 a.m. on Sunday, while LSU-Texas will meet at 11:30 a.m.
The LSU-Texas game will not be televised by Cox Sports Television as scheduled. Bracket and consolation/championship play has been canceled.
Tickets from Saturday’s play will be honored for Sunday games.

The Tiger Park Ticket Booth opens Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and fans can purchase tickets on-site starting at $5 for adult general admission. If fans have tickets for Saturday’s game, they can be used for admission to Sunday’s action.
