BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team earned a spot in the GymInfo Top 25 for the 522nd straight week Monday as the Tigers checked in at No. 24.
It marks the 147th consecutive poll that LSU has been ranked in the top 25, and the streak dates back to Feb. 26, 2001.
LSU’s regional qualifying score remained unchanged at 194.825.
The Tigers also ranked 16th on vault and beam with a 49.005 and 48.655 RQS, respectively.
Two LSU freshman gymnasts made appearances in the individual national rankings as Sarie Morrison tied for 12th in the vault rankings with a 9.870 RQS and Maliah Mathis tied for 15th on floor with a 9.855 score.
LSU (2-8, 0-5 Southeastern Conference) will take on New Hampshire at 7 p.m. Friday in the final home meet of the season in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The meet is Senior Night as the team will honor senior Samantha Engle, and an autograph session with the entire team and three-time national champion Susan Jackson will be held after the meet.
