BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team earned the No. 21 ranking with a 194.688 season average in the latest standings released Monday by GymInfo.
After posting a season-high 49.025 on beam against Arkansas last week, LSU moved up four spots to No. 14 in the beam rankings with a 48.608 average. The Tigers also rank 12th on vault at 48.950 and 25th on floor with a 48.700 average.
Sarie Morrison is ranked 24th on bars with a 9.833 average, and the freshman has scored at least a 9.80 or higher on every routine this season.
LSU (2-6, 0-3 SEC) will face No. 5 Georgia in the Fourth Annual Etta James Memorial Meet at 7 p.m. Friday in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Fans are encouraged to attend the meet because $1 will be donated to the fight against breast cancer in Baton Rouge for each person in attendance.
