BATON ROUGE – The LSU Athletics Department will celebrate the program’s outstanding academic achievements by its student-athletes for the 2009-10 school year Sunday evening at the annual Tiger Athletic Foundation Academic Excellence Gala held inside the Maravich Center.
A total of 172 student-athletes will be recognized for receiving a 3.0 or higher grade point average during the 2009-10 academic year.
During the program, individual and team awards will be handed out which include the Distinguished Alumnus Award, TAF Augie Cross Memorial Award, TAF Hall of Distinction Inductee, Bengal Belles Academic Achievement Award, Eye of the Tiger Award, Wally Pontiff, Jr. Academic Excellence Award, TAF Male and Female Athletes of the Year, TAF Scholar Athletes of the Year and the Tiger Cup team award.
The event starts at 7 p.m. and will be streamed for free live in the Geaux Zone on www.LSUsports.net/live.
