BATON ROUGE – The No. 19 LSU softball team learned Thursday that six additional games have been picked up on television for the 2011 season. In total, the Tigers have nine regular season games on TV.
LSU has a quintet of home contests on Cox Sports Television in conjunction with LSU Sports Properties. Games on CST include Texas (March 5), Kentucky (March 19), Southern Miss (April 27) and South Carolina (May 6 & 7).
The Saturday game of the Kentucky series has been moved up to 1 p.m., while the Saturday game of the South Carolina series has been pushed back to 3:30 p.m. to accommodate the regional sports network out of New Orleans that has access to two million homes across seven states. CST is cable channel 37 and available in HD on channel 737 in the Baton Rouge market.
As part of the SEC regional television package, LSU’s series finale at Mississippi State on May 1st has been moved to 1:30 p.m. in Starkville.
LSU also announced Thursday a time change to the April 9th contest against Alabama. The Tigers and Tide will now meet at 6 p.m. and follow the LSU Spring Football game which is being televised by ESPN.
LSU is one day away from first pitch and playing host to the Wilson/DeMarini Tiger Classic. Bowling Green, Louisiana Tech and Purdue head to the Capital City.
