BATON ROUGE – After setting a new season high for the second-straight week in a 195.875-193.750 victory against BYU, the LSU gymnastics team moved up five spots to No. 19 in the national rankings released Monday by GymInfo.
LSU (2-5) improved its season average to 194.650 to move inside the top 20.
It marks the 144th-consecutive poll and 519th-straight week that LSU has earned a spot in the top 25, dating back to Feb. 26, 2001.
In the event rankings, the Tigers remained in the top 15 on vault at No. 12 with a 48.925 average, and the team moved up three spots on beam to No. 18 with a 48.525 average. LSU also ranks 23rd on floor at 48.640.
After posting a career-high 9.90 on bars, freshman Sarie Morrison jumped up seven spots to No. 15 nationally on bars with a 9.840 average.
Arkansas, LSU’s opponent Friday, checked in at No. 11. LSU will take on the Razorbacks at 7 p.m. Friday in the Maravich Center. Tickets are still on sale at www.LSUtix.net or by calling 1-800-960-8587.
