BATON ROUGE – Fresh off an impressive 5-2 win over No. 29 Rice on Sunday, the LSU men’s tennis team looks to maintain its momentum at home on Tuesday when it welcomes in-state opponents UL-Lafayette and UNO for a doubleheader at W.T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium.
The Tigers (1-2) will take the courts against the Ragin’ Cajuns (0-2) at 3 p.m. CST followed by the match with the Privateers (1-0) at 7 p.m.
Both matches were originally scheduled for Feb. 4, but were postponed due to inclement weather.
“We are looking to maintain our momentum after the big win on Sunday,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. “We need to focus on both of these teams individually and just keep improving on the details we’ve been working on.”
ULL enters the match without a dual victory on the season, but they’ve squared-off against two top 10 teams on the road. The Cajuns lost to No. 7 Baylor 6-1 on Jan. 20, and fell to No. 10 Texas A&M 7-0 on Jan. 22. UNO’s only dual match of the season was a 4-3 victory over Lamar on Jan. 31.
LSU is undefeated all-time against both teams, holding a 19-0 series record over ULL and a 23-0 advantage over UNO.
Last year the Tigers defeated the Cajuns 6-1 and the Privateers 4-0 in a doubleheader on Feb. 25 at the “Dub”.
