BATON ROUGE – The LSU softball team made one more special season ticket delivery Wednesday to Chancellor Dr. Michael V. Martin in his office.
“It’s great to see the players and Yvette come in and have the chance to catch up a little bit,” Martin said. “They know I’m a fan of the team so having tickets to go to the ball game is one of the great perks of this job. I think the athletic programs are incredibly important to our identity. I’m very high on the quality of our student-athletes. I want to go out and show them the enthusiasm that I hope they feel from the entire community.”
LSU, ranked No. 19 in the initial NFCA Top 25, is nine days away from first pitch and playing host to the Wilson/DeMarini Tiger Classic. Bowling Green, Louisiana Tech and Purdue head to the Capital City as the Tigers open the season at home for the first time since 2008.
