BATON ROUGE – The LSU softball team provided its fans with a unique experience and hand delivered close to 50 season tickets over the weekend.
“It’s always fun for our team to get to meet our fans,” junior Katie Guillory said. “The second year of delivering tickets was twice the fun. We have the best fans any softball player could ever ask for; I absolutely loved it.”
“It was truly an amazing experience,” senior Jessica Mouse said. “I love meeting our fans, and I love getting to know them personally.”
The Tigers made five deliveries Friday as Alex Boulet, Allison Falcon, Simone Heyward, Ashleigh Kuhn and Tammy Wray joined members of the coaching staff and surprised ticketholders who work on the LSU campus.
Prior to its Saturday scrimmage, LSU hit the road and split into seven different groups. The Tigers made stops in Port Allen, Plaquemine, Brusly, Central, Baton Rouge, Downtown, Gonzales, Prarieville and Geismar.
“As a freshman, it was truly special to meet some of our most dedicated fans today on our deliveries,” freshman Jacee Blades said. “I’m so glad to be in a program that gives us the opportunity to meet and interact with our fans. We put so much work into our program, and it’s truly special to know that our fans are just as passionate. They truly cherish the moment they get to spend with us on a personal level, and today’s delivery experience is something that I will never forget.”
“It was a great experience to get to know some of our most devoted fans,” junior Cassie Trosclair said. “I enjoyed all of their excitement about this upcoming season. I can’t wait to see them at our games.”
LSU is 11 days away from first pitch and playing host to the Wilson/DeMarini Tiger Classic. Bowling Green, Louisiana Tech and Purdue head to the Capital City as the Tigers open the season at home for the first time since 2008.
Season tickets can be purchased online at www.LSUtix.net, the official website of LSU Athletics. Ticket also can be purchased in person at the ticket office on the first floor of the Athletics Administration Building or by calling (225) 578-2184 or (800) 960-8587.
