BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team checked in at No. 25 with a 193.942 season average in the latest rankings released Monday by GymInfo.
LSU has now appeared in the top 25 for 142 consecutive weeks, a streak that dates back to March 5, 2001.
In the event rankings, LSU moved up one spot to No. 10 on vault with a 48.967 average. Last week against top-ranked Florida, LSU posted a season-high 49.125 on vault.
Florida remained No. 1 overall with a 196.708 average, followed by Stanford (196.413), Georgia (196.188), Utah (195.933) and Oklahoma (195.781).
Two of LSU’s three opponents at the Metroplex Challenge are ranked in the top 10 as Alabama is sixth with a 195.525 average and Nebraska is 10th at 195.050. Missouri is unranked.
LSU will compete at the Metroplex Challenge at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas at 7 p.m. Saturday.
