BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s basketball team will spotlight breast cancer awareness when the Lady Tigers host Georgia in the Pink Zone Game benefitting the Baton Rouge Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® at 4 p.m. CT on Sunday, Jan. 30 in the Maravich Center. The game will be televised to a national audience on ESPN2.
LSU will pay tribute to breast cancer survivors with a “Parade of Survivors” during halftime festivities. Registration for the “Parade of Survivors” is now available here.
Each registered survivor will receive a complimentary pink t-shirt as well as a ticket to the game. Reduced price tickets are also available for family members, friends or supporters that will be accompanying them to the game.
As part of the festivities surrounding the game, the Komen Baton Rouge Affiliate is auctioning the opportunity to be the “guest coach” for the Jan. 30 game via an online auction at www.ebay.com/komenbatonrouge.
Additional items will be added to the online auction on Jan. 17, including sports memorabilia, survivor pink and Louisiana items. On gameday, there will be a silent auction and donation stations on the concourse of the Maravich Center.
National country recording artist and Komen for the Cure supporter, Candy Coburn will sing the National Anthem and perform at halftime during the “Parade of Survivors”. Coburn recorded “Pink Warrior” in honor of those surviving breast cancer.
