BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team is ranked 25th in the GymInfo standings released Monday after the Tigers’ 193.350 performance at eighth-ranked Oregon State.
LSU (0-1) also received top 25 rankings in vault and floor, checking in at No. 15 on vault with a 48.775 and No. 21 on floor with a 48.575.
Freshman Sarie Morrison earned the No. 23 spot on bars in the individual rankings after she scored a 9.825 in her first appearance as a Tiger.
Auburn, LSU’s opponent on Friday, dropped out of the top 25 team rankings, but the Tigers are ranked ninth on beam with a 48.650 score and 24th on bars with a 48.475.
Florida, LSU’s opponent in the home opener on Jan. 21, earned the No. 1 ranking after its 196.925 last week. Stanford ranks second at 196.625, and Utah and Michigan are tied for third at 195.700. UCLA rounds out the top five at 195.613.
Six of the seven Southeastern Conference teams are ranked as Georgia is sixth, Alabama is ninth, Arkansas is 10th and Kentucky is 16th.
