BATON ROUGE – LSU is No. 1 in the 2010 college baseball attendance rankings released Thursday by the NCAA, marking the 15th straight season in which the Tigers have led the nation in total attendance.
LSU posted a total attendance figure of 404,916 in 38 games last season in Alex Box Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 10,150. LSU is the only school in NCAA history to exceed 400,000 in baseball attendance.
LSU was also No. 1 in average attendance for the 14th time in 15 seasons, recording a figure of 10,655 tickets sold per game.
LSU established a school single-game attendance record on April 17, 2010 when 12,313 tickets were sold for the Tigers’ contest versus Alabama. LSU sold over 10,000 tickets for 33 of its 38 games in Alex Box Stadium last season.
The Tigers open the 2011 season on February 18 when LSU plays host to Wake Forest in Alex Box Stadium.
