Trepp Advances to Semifinal at World Swimming

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — LSU swimming standout Jane Trepp advanced to the semifinals of the 50-meter breaststroke on Day 1 of the 2010 FINA World Short-Course Championships Wednesday in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Tallinn, Estonia, native finished 11th overall after clocking a time of 30.61 seconds. The Lady Tigers senior reached the semifinals with a mark of 30.36, fourth-best among prelim times.

Trepp will turn her attention to Thursdays 100m individual medley where she is seeded fourth with her lifetime best of 59.33. The five-time NCAA All-American is also scheduled to race in the 100m breast on Friday and the 50m freestyle on Saturday.
