BATON ROUGE — At the end of its 10-win regular-season, the LSU football team was ranked 11th in the AP and Harris Interactive polls, and 12th by the Coaches. The Tigers were ranked No. 10 in the Bowl Championship Series standings released later Sunday.
LSU (10-2, 6-2 SEC) will wait until after the Dec. 4 SEC Championship Game to learn its postseason bowl destination, an 11th-straight trip for the Tigers.
The Tigers finished the regular season tied with Arkansas for second in the SEC Western Division behind undefeated Auburn. LSU was 3-2 against teams currently ranked in the Top 25.
The Tigers’ most likely bowl destinations are the Capital One Bowl in Orlando — which has the first pick of SEC teams not selected for BCS bowls — or the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas, which has the next pick.
Bowl selections will be officially announced on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 5, after the BCS Selection Show at 7:15 p.m. CT.
