BATON ROUGE – On a beautiful Saturday morning, members of the LSU track and field and soccer teams gathered together in North Baton Rouge to assist the local Habitat for Humanity chapter in building the soon-to-be Pooler family house in the athletic department’s fourth Habitat build of the fall semester.

LSU’s student-athletes spent the morning caulking and painting both the interior and exterior walls of the home that will soon be inhabited by the Pooler family.

“Habitat for Humanity is really doing great things in the community here in Baton Rouge, and I think it’s great to be a part of the volunteer labor force that makes building these houses possible,” said LSU distance runner Laura Carleton. “We had a beautiful day today. We’re very honored to have the chance to continue our work with Habitat for Humanity.”

“This semester we have really embraced community service as a team,” said distance runner Tim Landry. “This project is definitely my favorite. Habitat for Humanity is a great organization that we are really proud to work with today.”
