BATON ROUGE – On Saturday, Nov. 13, LSU will open its doors to the public for LSU Day, a free, fun-filled day of exploration and discovery, highlighted by performing arts showcases, tours and exhibitions showing off LSU’s rich history.
LSU Day is one of the many signature events taking place during 2010 as part of the university’s Sesquicentennial Celebration, recognizing LSU’s 150 years of service in the realms of education, research and community service.
The day’s events will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 1 p.m.
LSU Day activities will be held in three areas of campus – the Field of Excellence, located at the University Recreation Complex on South Campus Drive near the LSU lakes; the South Campus Promenade, along South Campus Drive west of Highland Road; and the Union Square, located in and around the Student Union. LSU Day events will highlight the university’s achievements in athletics, research, the arts, academics and community outreach, and will also provide a sneak peek of what this world-class institution has to come.
The LSU Athletics Department will be participating in LSU Day: Thru and True, offering all Tiger fans the opportunity to meet current LSU student-athletes and coaches who will be in attendance to meet fans and sign autographs. Also, join us in the main stage as former and current Tigers take part in our “Meet the Tigers” portion of the event. See schedule below for event information.
