All LSU football games are scheduled to kick off at night, a tradition for Tiger football. But television contracts often require LSU to move game times.
As a member of the Southeastern Conference, LSU must abide by television contracts negotiated by the SEC. LSU does not request to move games to the daytime and it cannot refuse to move games to the daytime if requested to do so.
In the case of the LSU’s games vs. Tennessee, Alabama and Ole Miss this season, CBS requested to televise the games, so LSU was obligated to move the kickoff times to 2:30 p.m. as dictated by binding contract.
