PALO ALTO, Calif. – Sophomore Mary Michael Maggio and junior Jacqueline Hedwall both fired even par rounds of 71 to help a 23-stroke turnaround for the LSU Lady Tigers golf team in the second round of the Pac-10-SEC Challenge at the Stanford University Golf Course Saturday.

The Tigers posted a nine-over round of 293 on Saturday to improve from a first round of 316 to stand at 41-over par 609, in 17th place in the 21-team tournament. UCLA is the tournament leader at two-under 566 for the Pac 10 with the SEC represented by Alabama and Auburn tied for second at seven-over.

Maggio is at six-over 148 after 36 holes moving from 70th to 35th place after two rounds. Austin Ernst shot a three-over 74 and Amalie Valle and Lindy LaBauve had 77s to round out the counting scores.
