BATON ROUGE – Jessica Mouse, Anissa Young, Rachele Fico and Alex Boulet were selected to the newly formed LSU Softball Leadership Council Monday as announced by head coach Yvette Girouard.
The four players on the council represent each class and the council’s formation is based on the principle of personal and team accountability. It’s a self-governing mechanism that serves as an aid to assist the coaching staff on decisions that affect the team.
The council members will strive to take a proactive approach to all team issues and serve as constant reminders of LSU softball’s central mission: preparation, sacrifice and effort. Council members also will provide valuable feedback to the coaching staff and contribute significantly to team building concepts.
“We’re proud to announce this group of Tigers picked by their classmates to represent the team with a voice,” Girouard said. “They will work in conjunction with the coaching staff. Our goal with this council is for the players to realize that this is their team and the memories they make are mostly of their own choosing.”
Girouard also announced the 2010 LSU Softball Fall Schedule, which features a pair of home tournaments on October 9-10 and October 23-24 at Tiger Park. All games will be seven innings or two hours in length. There will be no eight-run rule after five innings of play.
