Doubles Team Set for All-American Qualifying

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — LSU’s nationally-ranked doubles tandem of Whitney Wolf and Keri Frankenberger is set to compete in the qualifying doubles draw of the 2010 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships, beginning Tuesday.

The qualifying rounds will run through Wednesday at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Four doubles teams out of the 32-team field will advance to the main draw, which begins Thursday.

Wolf and Frankenberger, who are ranked No. 41 in the nation, will challenge the 43rd-ranked duo of Tatsiana Kapshai and Rebeca Delgado from Sacramento State. With a victory, the Lady Tigers’ tandem would move on to face the winner of No. 20 Michaela Kissell and Dominika Zaprazna (Marshall) and Madeleine Giebert and Stefanie Winstein (Nebraska) in the second round.

If Wolf and Frankenberger were to prevail in their second round match, they would need a victory in the third round to advance to the main draw of the championships.

The LSU pair, which is competing together for the first time this season, led the Lady Tigers with a 10-5 doubles record competing out of the No. 1 slot last season.
