Men’s Golf Ranked No. 9 by Golfweek

BATON ROUGE – After wrapping up the fall season with a No. 7 national ranking in the latest Golfstat Top 25 released Wednesday, the LSU men’s golf team picked up a No. 9 national ranking in this week’s Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index published late Friday night.

The Tigers have catapulted themselves into the Top 10 of the national rankings on the strength of a season in which it has won two tournament titles at the Gopher Invitational and David Toms Intercollegiate along with an impressive second-place finish at the prestigious Isleworth Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday.

Like the Golfstat Top 25, leads the NCAA with six squads in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index as LSU is joined by No. 3 Florida, No. 5 Alabama, No. 10 Auburn, No. 11 Arkansas and No. 15 Georgia.

And also like this week’s Golfstat rankings, four Tigers are ranked among the nation’s Top 100 players in the Golfweek/Sagarin Individual Player Rankings, led by senior Ken Looper at No. 47, senior Andrew Loupe at No. 48, senior John Peterson at No. 79 and junior Sang Yi at No. 88 in the country.
