BATON ROUGE – LSU softball coach Yvette Girouard will serve as a celebrity waiter in the fourth annual Youth Oasis Celebrity Waiter Round Up scheduled for Thursday at the Louisiana Rural Life Museum.
Girouard will serve a table of 10 a full meal. Her tips collected at the event will benefit Youth Oasis, a non-profit organization located in Mid-City on Acadian Thruway. The celebrity waiter that earns the largest amount of tips for the night will be named “Top Waiter”.
“I’m excited to showcase my table waiting skills for the Youth Oasis event,” Girouard said. “I look forward to giving my table a phenomenal night to remember and raise as much money possible for this worthy cause.”
Youth Oasis and its programs provide support services to at-risk youth within the Greater Baton Rouge area. The programs they provide for community include the Basic Center, an emergency shelter for homeless or abused youth. The Transitional Living Program is a supervised apartment complex that coaches youth to move toward their independence and become contributing members of the community, while the Safe Place Program is a series of businesses that serve as safe locations for children to seek help during a crisis.
LSU softball finishes its fall season this weekend at Tiger Park. On Saturday, the Tigers square off with Northwestern State and Louisiana-Monroe before facing Chipola CC and Faulkner State on Sunday. The action begins at 12 p.m. on both days.
