BATON ROUGE – Hoops season has arrived. LSU Basketball Media Day is today and head men’s basketball coach Trent Johnson and women’s coach Van Chancellor will address members of the media starting at 12:30 p.m. CT live in the Geaux Zone on www.LSUsports.net/live.
Both coaches and players from each team will gather with members of the media at the new LSU Basketball Practice Facility to discuss the upcoming 2010-11 season.
Johnson, the consensus 2009 Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year, enters his third season at LSU. Chancellor, a Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer, is in his fourth year at the helm of the women’s program. Chancellor has compiled an impressive 71-27 (.724) mark in three seasons with three NCAA Tournament appearances and one Final Four.

The men’s team opens its season in the Maravich Center against Northwestern State on Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. The Lady Tigers play an exhibition against Delta State on Monday, Nov. 8, while their official home opener is set for Wednesday, Nov. 17 against nationally-ranked Ohio State.
