TULSA, Okla. – The 16th-ranked LSU men’s tennis duo of Sebastian Carlsson and Neal Skupski cruised their way into the semifinals of the D’Novo/ITA All-American doubles consolation bracket on Friday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Carlsson and Skupski got off to a nice start, knocking out Marcelo Arevalo and Rusty Turpin of tournament host Tulsa 8-3 to advance to the second round.
The Tiger tandem then advanced to the semifinals after making quick work of Yale’s Erik Blumenkranz and Joel Samaha 8-5.
“The guys were disappointed in how they performed yesterday,” said LSU assistant coach Danny Bryan. “They came out with very good focus today and were able to succeed on the court.”
Carlsson and Skupski will be back on the court tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. (CT) where they will square-off against Fresno State’s Remi Boutillier and Rikus de Villiers for a spot in the finals.
