TULSA, Okla. – LSU men’s tennis senior Sebastian Carlsson picked up a first-round win in qualifying singles at the D’Novo/ITA All-American Championships hosted by the University of Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Monday.
Carlsson took down 92nd-ranked Patrick Pohlman of the University of San Diego in a tight three-set match 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 to capture his first win of the season and move into the second round to face Washington’s Kyle McMorrow on Tuesday at 10 a.m. CT.
“Sebastian had a slow start, but he fought back hard in the final sets,” LSU assistant coach Danny Bryan said. “This was a good start and will help build his confidence as he continues to keep building going forward.”
If Carlsson wins on Tuesday, he would advance to a third-round match on Wednesday for a spot in the singles main draw.
