BATON ROUGE – The LSU soccer team is ranked in at least one major Top 25 national poll for the 11th-straight week dating back to the 2009 season as it is ranked No. 23 in the nation in the latest Soccer Times Top 25 ranking released late Monday evening.
The Tigers drop five spots from No. 18 to No. 23 in the Soccer Times Top 25 after falling to the Memphis Tigers on Sunday by a score of 1-0 at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis.
With its first loss of the 2010 campaign, LSU falls out of the nation’s Top 20 for the first time since 2009 as it had been ranked among the Top 20 teams in the country for 10-straight weeks dating back to Sept. 28 of last year. The squad has been ranked in the Top 20 nationally in 20 weeks over the last two seasons.
The Tigers will continue its four-game road swing this weekend in the Atlantic Coast Conference with an exciting slate of matches as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge at Wake Forest’s Spry Stadium. LSU squares off against No. 16-ranked Wake Forest on Friday at 6:30 p.m. CDT and formerly ranked Virginia Tech on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
