BATON ROUGE – Fans of the LSU soccer program are reminded that they can follow the Tigers like never before in 2010 by becoming a fan of LSU Soccer on Facebook and a follower of @LSUSoccer on Twitter with the start of the regular season now just four days away.
The Tigers open up the 2010 regular season on Sunday as they play host to the South Alabama Jaguar at the LSU Soccer Complex in a match scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff at the LSU Soccer Complex.
The LSU soccer program is a national leader in social media following among women’s soccer programs in the NCAA and has set a goal of reaching 2,000 Facebook fans and 1,000 Twitter followers by the start of the 2010 SEC Women’s Soccer Tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 3.
Fans that follow LSU Soccer on Facebook and @LSUSoccer on Twitter have the opportunity to enjoy all-access coverage of the team like never before, including behind-the-scenes practice and in-game videos, exclusive interviews with Tiger players and coaches, weekly video features with promotional information and in-game updates and analysis from members of the team support staff.
