BATON ROUGE – Just a few playing spots for teams and individuals remain for the annual event hosted by former LSU basketball All-American and veteran NBA star Shaquille O’Neal to benefit the LSU CHAMPS program.
The Shaquille O’Neal CHAMPS Life Skills Golf Tournament is set for Carter Plantation near Springfield, La., on Friday, Sept. 3. The entry fee is $1,000 for a foursome team and $500 for a hole sponsor. Those entrants with Tiger Athletic Foundation accounts will be credited for their golf tournament contributions.
O’Neal, the newest member of the Boston Celtics, will be on hand to join in the all-day festivities.
There will be a morning round starting at 8 a.m. and afternoon round at 1:30 p.m. Breakfast will be served to those playing before the morning round with lunch served to all competitors. Plantation burgers will be served following the conclusion of play after the afternoon session.
Prizes will be offered for low gross and low net, longest drive and closest to the hole.
