BATON ROUGE – LSU had 15 student-athletes volunteer their time Saturday at a Habitat for Humanity build in North Baton Rouge. The programs represented were gymnastics, soccer, swimming and diving, and track and field.

The student-athletes arrived at 8 a.m. and worked for nearly seven hours performing various tasks such as caulking, priming, painting, and other interior and exterior work at a house located on Chinn Street.

“I think that Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful program, and it’s exciting to see someone’s home go from nothing to something in such a short amount of time,” track and field’s Brandon Gordon said. “It’s also a great feeling knowing that you played a part in that.”

I’ve wanted to help out with Habitat for Humanity for a long time,” soccer’s Carlie Banks said. “I thought this would be a fun opportunity to do with my teammates knowing that it just takes a few hours out of our daily lives to help change someone’s life.”
